Tell others the Good News about Jesus

A core belief of Southern Baptists is to actively “tell others the Good News about Jesus,” which means actively sharing the Gospel message of Jesus Christ with others, emphasizing his death and resurrection as the path to salvation, and fulfilling the “Great Commission” to spread this message throughout the world; this is considered their primary mission and a central tenet of their faith.

Key points about Southern Baptists and sharing the Gospel:

Central to their identity:
Sharing the Good News is considered a fundamental aspect of being a Southern Baptist.

The Great Commission:
This biblical mandate, found in Matthew 28:19-20, is the foundation for their evangelistic efforts.

Emphasis on personal conversion:
Southern Baptists believe that individuals need to personally accept Jesus Christ as their savior to receive salvation.

Active outreach:
They are encouraged to actively seek opportunities to share their faith with others in their communities and beyond.

Have you made plans for your future security?

Are you searching for a way to provide for a secure future? The way of man stores up treasures, things like money, stocks & bonds, retirement plans, and insurance policies, to provide for their security during their golden years. God says that our security for the future doesn’t rest in earthly treasures.

“Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there you heart will be also.” Matthew 6: 19-21

While these earthly things can bring you financial security, they cannot provide security for your heart and soul. God wants you to trust Jesus for your security. This is what He has to say about a righteous man.

“His heart is secure, he will have no fear; in the end he will look in triumph on his foes.” Psalm 112:8

You are made righteous through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Because Jesus took your place in payment for your sin, you have the blessed hope of a secure future.

“We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure.” Hebrews 6:19

Jesus loves you and He wants you to have a secure future through a personal relationship with Him.

Are you lonely? Do you need a friend?

Do you sometimes feel like you’re all alone in the world? Do you wish there was someone who really cared about you? Someone you could ALWAYS count on? – NO MATTER WHAT!

God tells you that good friends are very important…

“A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.” Proverbs 17:17

But even close friends and family let us down sometimes. God says that you have one friend that will NEVER let you down.

“A man of many companions may come to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.” Proverbs 18:24

You don’t need to be afraid when you’re feeling alone, or things are not going well for you. Jesus is there for you ALL the time.

“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you.” Deuteronomy 31:6

Jesus wants to be your friend — ALL the time — EVERY time.

Are you looking for real joy in your life?

Is there something missing in your life? Do you have what you need for your physical comfort, but you still don’t feel real joy in your life? God says that your joy does not come from material possessions. God provides you with all the things you need, even things that money can’t buy!

“We are bringing you good news, telling you to turn from these worthless things to the living God, who made heaven and earth and sea and everything in them. He has shown kindness by giving you rain from heaven and crops in their seasons; he provides you with plenty of food and fills your hearts with joy.” Acts 14:15,17

True joy, the kind of joy that people can’t take away from you, comes from an abiding personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Trusting Jesus brings joy to your life.

“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” Romans 15:13

Sometimes having faith in something you can’t see is difficult to imagine, but the joy that will be present in your life as a result of placing your faith in Jesus is evidence of the goal of your faith – the salvation of your soul.

“Though you have not seen Him, you love Him; and even though you do not see Him now, you believe in Him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy, for you are receiving the goal of your faith, the salvation of your souls.” 1 Peter 1:8-9

Jesus wants you to feel true joy in your life.
