Delaney Family,
We want to take a few moments to both encourage you in the midst of the coronavirus outbreak, as well as provide you with some information regarding how you can stay safe.
Christ is our Good Shepherd, Psalm 23:4: “Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.” As His followers, we have the privilege and responsibility to ultimately trust in His protection (“rod”) and His provision (“staff”). Our security is not based on having our circumstances free of darkness or difficulty, but instead, our confidence is anchored in His love, power, and sovereignty.
While trusting in His strength and seeing this as an opportunity to love those around us, we also want to be wise and careful—following “best practices” set by our government and health professionals. We are closely monitoring communications from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), as well as updates concerning the state of Florida and Orange County.
Please know we deeply value the health and safety of each and every person who enters our facilities. We are taking extra precautions in our common areas, disinfecting frequently touched surfaces. In addition, we encourage everyone to follow the following precautions for your own safety, as well as the health and safety of others.
– Wash your hands for at least 20 seconds with warm water and frequently use a hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol.
– Cover your face with a tissue whenever you cough or sneeze, then throw the tissue in the trash.
– Avoid touching your face, nose, and eyes, as well as high-touch surface areas such as elevator buttons, door handles, and handrails.
– Avoid hugging and shaking hands. We recommend fist and elbow bumps to greet each other, or a friendly wave with a welcoming smile.
If you are not feeling well and/or are experiencing symptoms, we urge you to stay home and participate in the worship service online. We would be delighted for you to join us in worship that way. If you’ve never been part of our online community, you can do so on our website, via YouTube, and even on our Facebook page. Should you need assistance or have questions regarding online worship, please call us at 407-422-0758 during office hours or email us at delaneychurch@gmail.com.
As we journey together through the days to come, we are presented with an extraordinary opportunity to lean into the strength of Jesus, to courageously experience His hope and peace, and to lovingly engage in the lives of those around us. May we all be intentional in our faith, hope, and love, and pray for both our community and our world, specifically for those who are directly impacted.
